It is easy to distinguish the male one, but hard to tell the difference between the female ones. Can anybody tell me?

How to distinguish female D.filamentosus and D.maculatus

I think Mac's are slightly deeper-bodied, and the side blotches are taller than wide (or square).
Fil's are slimmer, and the side blotches are wider than tall, in my limited experience.
The macs I had were the Santarem variety - not sure if this applies to other geographic strains.
