Just thought I would drop in and introduce myself.

I am primarily a Rift Valley specialist, keeping Haplochromines of Malawi and Victoria, and Lamprologines of Tanginyka, although I have kept and bred many other cichlids and fish over the years.

I have been breeding Rift Valley cichlids for nearly 20 years now.

We are in the midst of a move, which is always hard on the fish situation, but once things are settled, some time mid summer, hopefully I can get the fish up to par within reasonable period of time.

I am looking forward to setting up a tank I purchased earlier this year, though it will be quite the project, as it is 96" x 24" tall x 48" deep.

I kept and bred some Pelvicachromis taeniolatus lobe, and hope to find and keep some other interesting kribs once I have set things up again.

Happy Holidays.

Fogelhund,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Glad to have you with us. I surely can appreciate you move issue. I would hate to have to move my fishroom. Hope that you stay around and add to the mix in the meantime.

Lobe is one of the nicer taeniatus types IMO, but there sure are alot to choose from. If you are going to use that large tank, you could easily set up a Westie tank, complete with several genera. I am really into the Chromidotilapia and Nanochromis right now, as well as the Pelvs. Plenty of nice stuff to be had out there.

Thanks for the welcome.

The big tank will be home to some Haplochromines such as Nimbochromis linni, Champsochromis caeruleus and Fossochromis rostratus, Scienachromis freyeri to start with. Probably another two or three species as well.
