Pretty sure one is a male not sure on the other. In a 60cm cube (~60g) with a fair amount of hardscape and plants. Sold to me as wild caught D12. Larger one is ~2" smaller closer to 1". Tap water is acidic (~6.5) and has next to no hardness. Had them for about a week. Hid most of the first day but now out and about most of the time. Smaller one was glass surfing a bit on days 2-3 but has more or less stopped that. Minor chasing and posing but nothing I'm worried about. Tank is about a month (some melting plants) old and was seeded with filter bio media from and established aquarium. Lot's to learn from you all on this forum!

Added some photos of the hard scape so you can get an idea of the hiding places. Also excuse the bubbles I'm running Co2 and the plants are constantly pearling when the lights are on.

Large one is a male. The other one is too small to be sure, but my gut feeling says male...
Thanks Frank. Are you looking at markings or shape to determine sex? Do you think D12 is correct on the species? There isn't a lot on the internet about them.

Black markings, shape of body and fins and coloration can indicate the sex. However, as I said, in case of the small fish, it's more a gut feeling.
As for the species, it can any of the ones in the red box:

They all look the same (at least to me) so I'm not able to distinguish them other than by their catch location.

Thanks. I'll post an update in 6 months or so.
