New to Apistogrammas, but I am starting out trying to breed some Orange Flash cacatuoides. From the information it seems I may have the best chance to breed this species initially. I recently acquired, from a local pet store, 6 juveniles that were tank raised. The aquarium setup is a 33 gallon (125 liters) with lots of caves and hiding places. Along with the Apistos are some Rasboras, pencils and cory cats. Hopefully, this will be a good environment for them to breed.
I have been in the aquarium hobby all my life and enjoy trying to breed new species. My home water has a high PH so trying to adjust with leaves, alder cones and peat moss. I am looking forward to reading all the great information in this community as I learn about keeping dwarf cichlids.
