I have a 55 gallon tank where I want to exclusively house Dwarf Cichlids. I have been at it for approximately a year. Right now I have 2 Kribs, 2 Cacatouides, 2 Agassizi, a Blue Ram, and a Bolivian Ram. It is a struggle to find these fish in Vegas, and I'm here looking for all the advice I can get.

Welcome! Quick question what temp ur tank running at? Bolivians prefer 75-78 temps whereas blue rams prefer 80-83. I have kept both In same tank before but one or both will not get optimal temp. What else u keep in your tank any dithers or bottom feeders? Sounds like a cool set up tho.

I have the tank set at 79. The only non-cichlid fish in the tank are Odessa Barbs. I have 5 of them. I only started this hobby about a year ago so my son could have some nice fish. I have since grown to love these fish. I know I still have a lot to learn... lol

Haha yeah truthfully I never witnessed any issues but that's just what they say about rams and I know the feeling. I have a tank of oddballs dunno what to do with em, but can't get rid of em haha. But I used to keep mine about that temp never saw spawning like I did once I separated the two species though and optimized their habitats.

Yeah, but I haven't had any issues keeping the Odessa's healthy. Odessa's prefer 72-76 from what I've read. But they've been the hardiest in the tank

Welcome to the hobby... I'm from Flagstaff just down the road. It's really hard to find any dwarf cichlids in Flagstaff too...
