Apistogramma with geophagus?

How would these fair together? I've seen tanks with geos and neons and swordtails and such

It really depends on the species. In 6'/1.5m tanks, properly decorated, many apistos species should be able to live with Geophagus.

I was thinking probably apistogramma cacatuoides.

Maybe; how large is your tank and how is it decorated.

It's a 6 foot 125. Completely empty. Just getting ideas. It would have heavy rock work and lots of fake plants like all my tanks along with pieces of driftwood

The geo I'd go with would be pindare. Probably a group of 8.

Well, G. sp. Pindare is not one of the big geos so I would think that A. cacatuoides would survive. Just make sure that there are adequate hiding places for them when chased. Ideally, the plants should be in dense clumps in the back corners and around rocks/driftwood in the back center. Then you can leave the front mostly open for sand sifting.

That's why I chose them. Max at about 6" and are still stunning looking. Glad to know it will work out thanks mike
