Apistogramma with geophagus?

It's a 6 foot 125. Completely empty. Just getting ideas. It would have heavy rock work and lots of fake plants like all my tanks along with pieces of driftwood

Well, G. sp. Pindare is not one of the big geos so I would think that A. cacatuoides would survive. Just make sure that there are adequate hiding places for them when chased. Ideally, the plants should be in dense clumps in the back corners and around rocks/driftwood in the back center. Then you can leave the front mostly open for sand sifting.
