Hi guys!

Coould You please help and tell me if there is any chance that this apisto is female? ( one in the background - 1st pic)

Looks like it could be a female. Black leading edge to pectoral fin is normally a good female sign.

It might be a female, but the ventral fin tips are rather long for a female. It might be a sneaker male. How large is this fish?

My guess is a 'brokeback' pair. From picture #3, the dorsal fin has the characteristic of a young male. A. trifasciata has a tendency to throw skewed sex ratio favoring males unless the breeder takes the effect to adjust the water parameters.

Hi all,
I'm terrible at both ID and sexing, but I'd be very surprised if they aren't both males.

Fish gets really !! yellow when german ram swims by. Shes around 3cm

Give it a couple of months. You'll know the sex by then.

You don't need a couple of months. Just look at the title : FS apistogramma trifasciata (vic Melbourne) in the Classified Ads - Buy or Sell. There is a very clear picture of a female with fry (pic#4). Notice the dorsal fin and compare that with your 'shemale', I mean female.
