We received these as Apistogramma sp. Harlekin, though a few articles I've seen have listed this as a pseudonym for A. rositae? Based on the video of below (sorry about angle), can anything be said definitively?
Yes, A. rositae was originally introduced as A. sp. Harlekin/Harlequin (Europe), Hifin "Panduro" (USA), and Urias (Japan). I can't say whether or not the fish in the video are rositae, since the video is rather poor.
Well the Río Santiago is considerably farther up the Río Marañon than where A. rositae is typically found (near the mouth of the Río Huallaga on the Marañon), but locations given by collectors/suppliers are often inaccurate. If you want these apistos properly identified, I'd at least need some decent photos.
