Apistogramma mendezi ID question

Hi Mike and others,
This is an A. mendezi male specimen with longitudinal stripes in the tail and also lots of orange colouration. It was imported within a v mixed group of other brazilian apisto's from Manaus. So far, there was paucisquamis, gephyra, bitaeniata and what appears to be sp. abacaxis specimens also in this imported batch!
Please could you confirm whether this male A.mendezi is A220 (langsstreifen/long-stripes) or A222 (orange):

To me it looks like an orange color morph of the eastern (long-stripes) form. It is closest to A222. I'm not sure how important the orange color actually is. I'd be interested in seeing if the color remains true in offspring.

Thanks very much Mike, can always count on you. It does look very similar to the orange morph listed as A222 in the Datz book and that was my initial instinct too.
I am trying source a long-stripes female for him, so will keep you posted if I manage to spawn him in future, regarding the offspring etc.

Hi all, just an update here:
I was lucky enough to source two A. mendezi long-stripes A222 (Orange) females through a good contact in the UK (see pics of the male of this species earlier in this thread)... So fingers crossed I may get some fry of this highly desirable colourful variant of A. mendezi in future:
