It looks like Mark Denaro (Anubiasdesign) will be ordering some fish, including some neat West Africans. The list includes Nanochromis splendes and (supposedly) the true Nanochromis nudiceps. Mark does pre-orders only. If you are interested, please chack out his website. I might be interested in going in on a joint order for the above species.

I contcted Mark a while ago when the Zaire order possibilities started. He said he would rather I start ordeing the fish direct because he doesn't have the tank space to handle the volume of fish I wanted so he gave me the contact info for the transhipper. That means I plan on ordering quantity of many of the Zaire species (especillay the Nanochromis/Congochromis and the Teleogramma) along with a number of the tetras and I'm sure some other stuff. Pricing should be similiar to what Mark is offering...depending on what the additional shipping charges to get the fish from teh east coast to me are. I plan on offering sexed pairs/groups of the fish at a higher price (assuming the ratios in a box aren't completely off) in addition to "swing of the net" pricing.

By all means support Mark when you can but if he isn't bringing in all of the fish you want because of a lack of preorders please don't forget to check out what I end up bringing in.

I'd be interested in both splendens and (the true) nudiceps (not aprilus). Mark said his exporter doesn't provide any pics. He also doesn't want to advertise here, as he wants to keep the transaction small (presumably because of limited tank space). Therefore, if you are planning on getting splendends and nudiceps, please let me know and I'll order through you.

Yes, Mark wants a small order! Last time I was after over 4 boxes of transhipped fish...that is a LOT of fish when you are talking a tranship pack-several thousand incluiding the smaller tetras/barbs/killies.

I'll start working on the details with the transhipper this week and post here as things unfold.

The splendens and nudiceps are both high on my list (but I fully expect one or even maybe both to be parilus). Maybe luck will be in play and either consortus or something else will manage to be in the mix. I also want both species of Teleogramma. Barbus candens are high on the want list as well!

There are just TO MANY cool little fish out of "Zaire" to get them all so I'll have to narrow the species down to 5-7 or so!

Another great barb that I saw available earlier in the year is Barbus jae; but I haven't seen any since about March or April.

The Nanochromis/Congochromis section reads like this for what is available:

Nanochromis parilus (several sizes) Often Sold as Nudiceps

For what it's worth Teleogramma gracile has a place on the list but is not currently available!!!

So what is everyone afer on this order? I'll be sure to get the "N. splendens" and some C. dimidiatus as well as both species of Teleogramma. I also plan on getting Barbus candens and haulstaerti. They have Nile Pearch on the list for you Victorian keepers that want to recreate the lake in it's current state!

I don't think that Mark doesn't intend to order, but he wouldn't ship the fish on until after the ACA convention.

Jeff, you can count me in on the splendens. I think they are splendens or consortus -- at least that's how Oliver Lucanus has them listed. I would also be eager to see the nudiceps even though they might be parilus. I might take some dmidiatus off your hands, depending on price and tank space. I pass on the depressum (brought back a small group from Germany recently). On the latest list that Mark shared with me, the gracile were not named any more.
