Is this possible/advisable?

I'm currently keeping A.cacatuoides(one pair and 3 juveniles) in a 35 g fully planted display. Could I also keep another species (I'm interested in A.nijsseni) in there too? Or would they either fight too much, or interbreed? I don't want either of those things to happen.

Thanks in advance :)

I wouldn't advise adding another pair of fish into your 35gallon tank and definitely not nijsseni. I wouldn't fear interbreeding of your two species as much as I'd fear the fighting between them. I would leave the tank as is. It'd be hard to try to add another pair of apistos without causing problems.. hope this helps... john
