Hello all,
Been reading thru the forum. figured show off
my project in the works.
Kept poison dart frogs in this tank for years, but last one died
last year and figured try fish this time.
48 X 28 X 18 - 100 gallon tall aquarium.
Home made metal stand with cherry wood inserts.
Hope to put Discus and Dwarf Cichlids in it.
Lots of dirftwood and live plants with Co2 system
Got it all together and decided to do a true overflow with wet/dry fiter. LOL
So tore it all back apart. Made homemade overflow baffle and DIY wet/dryfilter.
Wet/Dry filter has built in overflow on the left side.
This drains out as new water is pumped into sump. Goes thru wall into
the garage to plastic tub where a auto sump pump will pump it to a drain.
Got everything hardlined under the aquarium with canister filter giving w/d
an extra boost and pumping thru a UV sterilizer.
Will get 30% water changes every other day from storage tank in garage
Water will be mix of R/O and tap to get hardness and PH just right.
Whole system will be hands off with automated water changes.
Just change the sponge filters and check R/O system once a month.
