Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me ID this guy. A few weeks ago I stumbled into this little fellow while buying some fish products. I was looking around with no ntention of getting anymore fish, when I saw it.
Tiny, barely any color in a tank with way to many Corydoras. I believe de LFS keepers didn’t even know he/she was there.
Anyways 3 weeks after it colored up a lot and Im hoping he/she can be identified.
To me it looks like a possible Atahualpa but was sold as either a double red Cacatuoides or Double Red Agassizii. They had no clue and were making it up as they went.
If Atahualpa I can re-home depending on sex. Otherwise it will be by itself (well in a community tank).
Thank you in advance. Any help with sex and Id is appreciated.

Thank you very much. Guess she will stay where she is at. Was really hoping Atahualpa. She is similar to the others but I do see some differences.

I was wondering if I could get additional help. This was a late acquisition and an unexpected one none the less. Better planning next time.

I was wondering if I could keep this girl with either a male Panduro or male Agassizii. Not interested in any breeding. Not sure if they would cross breed.

Thing is I have two community tanks she could go in with either of the above mentioned. If I find a male Cacatuoides I could eventually rehome her to a future project tank.

Thanks in advance.

I'd not do it. The hormones might make the males still want to mate or chase her away, so there's a likelihood you make her run the gauntlet.
