I have an old pair of A. macmasteri sharing a divided tank. This pair has slowed down and become shy with age but things have generally been unalarming. I was out for a few days and hadn't been there to check on my fish. Today I noticed the male was rather still in a corner and clamped. I have never seen this before. On closer inspection, I noticed the male has some white on his lips. I then took a look at the female who is still more active and noticed she also seems to have some white on her lips, almost as if her upper lip has rotted away some. The male also displayed this odd shimmying I have never seen before. Nothing new has gone into the tank in months and this pair lives alone with a divider, sponge filter, aquarium sand, and java moss. What could this be? Could it be columnaris? Thank you for any help!
