I added some in with my cacatuoides wild from peru trio, would this work? Would the guppies somehow eat the fry?

I use them and the parents wont let them eat the fry, but I never see any guppy fry in any of mine, the parents make them snacks.

Guppy Fry are tender and delicious snack for everyone, even usually their parents.
I've never had trouble with guppies in my cacatuoides tanks. I don't think they make a diference in breeding behaviors or stress levels, but there's been no trouble.

I'll say though that guppies are quick swimmers and certainly capable of eating fry. Apistos are good at guarding their young so if you happen to have aggressive guppies at most you'll end up losing a handful. But the guppies may lose some fins in the process.
Much more frequently my choice has been pygmy cories. They're interesting, like the same water, swim all over and aren't a threat to anything.
