Ok so im new to keeping apistos, ive done as much research as humanly possible, but theres one question i still have, i know you cant keep different species (ie:borelli, cacatuoides, etc) but can i keep 2 different color varieties of agassizii, like fire reds and double reds, i have a 29 gallon tank to keep them in, also what can you recomend for dither fish? Can i keep apistogramma agassizii double reds W/ fire reds?

Yes, you can - with the normal cautions: tank lay-out must permit each fish to have and defend its own territory (do a search here). A 29 high is rather small for 2 pair of apistos; much too small for 2 trios. Also realize that the dominant male with breed with both females, so expect crosses if fry grow up.
