(Breeding) age and size

Hi,
I recently purchased some new apisto's and they're still quite small. I was wondering: does their size give me any indication of how old they are? I have to say that the sizes of the females differ quite some but the two males I have are both around 5 cm (1.9 inch).

And from what age do apisto's usually start breeding (these are Vielfleck's)?

Size has no influence on age or maturity. Most apistos are sexually mature at around 8 month, but this and size can differ depending on water quality and feedings.
