Hi
I want your opinion on this tank I want to set up
female and male apistogramma hongsloi breeding
4 ottos
7 dwarf pencilfish
a heavily planted tank
fine sand
When the apistogramma breed I will take out the fry and put them in a different tank
Would this be possible and what would you add or take out to make it more comfartble for the fish
thank for replies in advance

IMHO it is too many fish for a breeding tank. Two or three dwarf pencils as dithers is all I'd use, besides the apistos. I also wouldn't take out the fry for at least 3 - 4 weeks where possible.

It's much easier to remove the parents and just use the 17 gl. as the grow out tank. I remove the male at the first sign of any problems and like to leave the female with the fry for about 6 weeks than remove the female and use the tank as a grow out for awhile.
