Sold to me as Megaptera, I do believe it is a megaptera but pretty new to the apisto game and would like to hear from you all!

It's not megaptera because males of this species have at most the first 6 membranes of the dorsal fin strongly elongated whereas the rest isn't and is almost of equal length (see here). Depending on the catch location and on the size of the black blotch on the caudal peduncle it's either A. piaroa A164 from the Orinoco or A. cf. piaroa A165 from the Rio Negro. That they came as megaptera points towards the former.
