i just got six 1 inch a. baenchi. i can't tell if they are male or female. they all look like they might be males to me. i know with some sp of tank raised apistogramma the fry can all be one sex depending on water parameters or other factors. it might just be that they are still young or that i have only seen these fish in pics before and don't know what characteristics to look for to properly sex them. can someone give me some pointers on sexing them. thanks

The 2 most distinguishing factors for mine are :

1 - femalle will have black ventral fins
2 - male will have a panduro/nijsseni-like red edge to the tail

Both of those traits are not present on the opposite sex, and should start showing early in their lifespan.
