the dragon is just for fun :)
hmm, the interesting thing is: Having many F1 and the big fish together in a rather crowded environment, the fight reduces and both big and small fish live well...
yes, tucano tetra is really cool.... and the most impressive thing is: Our fellow friend in this forum has bred it! I really want to hear more update from him! ^_^
Thanks much Mike for your kind comments. As a remark, there is also a specimen (same shipment) which is basically the same as mine while the face is fully orange... This feature, together with others, reminds me of its close relationship with A. gibbicep and A. piaroa ...
Mike is right that no one can be sure with these given photos. But my gut feeling is (a guess) that it is
either an A. sp. Abacaxis (wilhelmi) or A. pulchra. :)
Congratulations. I myself love both species a lot and if the price and quality are fair, you should get a pair of the "blue face" :)
(Declaration: I didn't export "blue face")
Hi Friend, I cannot see any photo from the website. since I am not a member and i do not know Thai, it's difficult to know how to find the pictures... please check.
As a quick remark, the two fish (male) are quite different, Diamond Face usually has red dotted cheek, and double-elongated...
For recent imports of the so called wild caught A. eliza from Brasil to Hong Kong, we found A. sp. Breitbinden, too...
These days, locality thing is tricky as the "wild caught" may no longer be real wild caught from the original
habitat.... I think you know what I mean....
I did also raise fry in such a community tank. My trick is to put a lot of moss for the fry to hide and feed quite a lot of bbs for every fish.
In the presence of the parent fish, some (like 10) fry managed to grow up in my 40 inches long community tank. If yield is a concern,
you will have...
why don't you use can food if convenience is concerned? "Tetra bits" works...
I always avoid using all kinds of worms partially for hygiene issue and partially because of the
reasons that Mike mentioned above.
