I just got some fish From Apistodave and they were great quality and doing great. I have also bought from Mr Jacobs from southernapistos.com and they were very good quality and color. I think many of Southernapistos are imported from South America.

Is the temperature thing for all species of apistogramma or is is species dependent - some effected more or less by pH and some more or less effected by temperature? The charts in Mergus Cichlid altas led me to believe it was species dependent and different factors effect different species????
I have to pull the eggs and raise artificially. For some reason the fish eat the eggs or the fry after a few days . Several times the fry were free swimming several days and then they ate them all
My Moliwe's spawn so much I have to give the juvies away. With a slightly acidic pH I get nearly exactly a 50/50 rate of female to male fry. I keep them in the acidic tank for the first two months or so and then I do not worry about the pH very much anymore.

Yes I did also get carried away with amount - I just noticed that the decaps expand a lot when you hydrate them. they at least double in size the first ten minutes as far as I could tell.
I am still curious about hatching times with decaps - I wonder how they compare with encaps
