I have a 10 gal with my pair of breeding Cacatuoides. Now I had a brood
of fry that where approx. 3-4 weeks old now they are all gone or at least
I don't see them anymore. I never removed the male but he didn't seem
to snack on them, besides the female kept him away. I have a large clump
of...
Why is it that my triple red cacatuoides prefer to breed in a specie
tank of 10 gals verse practically a specie tank of 75 gal(this tank
has 4 white cloud minnows). I don't get it they have more room
more shells/pots to choose from. This tank(75 gal) is overgrown
with vegatation so plenty of...
My question is,is it wise to break up a breeding pair? Heres my dilemma,
I have 3 tanks: 125gal densely planted community(pair of cac's,trio of
Trifasciata's and various tetras), 75gal densely planted(pair of Cac's and
white clouds) and 10 gal with a pair of Cac's only. None have bred for...
Does any one actually know what a Peruvian or Amazon biotope or
aquascape looks like? I would like to set-up my 75gal Cacatuoides
breeding tank up like it would actually look like in the wild, but I
have know clue what it looks like. All I know is there is alot of tree
roots that extend down...
Does anybody know where I can find really nice triple red cacatuoides?
I mean full dorsal, cuadal and anal fins red quality. I have two pair but
they just have a little red in all three fins. I've ordered from apisto dave
in Oregon, thats the little red in the fins. The best quality I have...
I have a question. I'm switching from a breeding setup(4, 10 gal tanks)
becuase its just not working out for me, to a 75 gal tank. I have a 40 gal
which houses 2 pair of a.panduro's which live harmoniously and a pair of
a.aggasizzi. In my breeding setup I have 2 pairs of triple red...
I recently purchased a couple pieces of wood from my lfs. I put them
in my tanks and they have developed some sort of white slime, does any
one know what this crap is and how to get rid of it?
Are cacatuoides monogamous? I have a pair that have breed in a ten gallon
and I removed the male to my 125 gal that is heavily planted with a different
cacatuoides female and among 3 other different apisto pairs and since I have
put him in this tank I have not seen him. He is the largest fish...
I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures, I don't have a digital
camera. I just took pictures with regular camera tonight(4-18-05).
Maybe in afew days I'll post them. My question is I have two pairs of
Trifasciata's one pair the male has a yellow face with blue speckles
throughout the...
How do you tell the difference between a male and female
Apistogramma bitaeniata? Is the male the only one with blue in
the face? Of course this is outside of breeding dress.
Thanks
I got this plant about two weeks ago and it looked fine but
now the tips are turnining black. What does this mean. My tank
parameters are as follows: PH 6.7, gh/kh 2, Temp 79-80deg.
I use R.O. water only, I have CO2 unit and lighting is at about
3.35 wpg. I don't seem to have any problems...
I have a question, my yellow cacatuoides female is always fat looking.
Like she is always full from eating, but I only feed once a day. So
I know I'm not over feeding. I'm wondering if apisto's get malawi bloat.
But she is always willing to eat. Every now and then she will turn her gold...
Hey guys and gals,
I have a 125 gal tank that is densely planted. The other tank inhabitants
are 5 cacatuoides (2m/3f), 1 Borelli, 6 cardinal tetras,5 sae's, 19 amano
shrimps and a pair of panduro's. The ph ranges between 6.8-7.0, kh 0-2.
I use only r/o water that runs thru peet. My...
I have an r/o unit and I am using that water in my 125 gal apisto
tank. But I had some lace or bowl rock in my tank which raised my
ph to about 7.0-7.2. I realized that my panduro's only ever seem to be
in the mood to breed at 6.0. So I read that oak leaves lower ph,
my question is which oak...
I have a 125 gal tank that is heavily planted. How many more fish can
I add. I already have 2 panduro(1m/1f), 5 cacatuoides(2m/3f) and
1 borelli male. Oh also have 6 cardinal tetra and 4 white clouds. I'm
looking to add another pair of panduro, would this be advisable?
I have a pair of panduro,a trio of A.cacatuoides and a A.borelli in a
heavily planted 40 gal with no results over the duration of about 3
months. Then this weekend I switched all of them with the addition of
another duo of A.cacatuoides to my 125 gal on saturday. But I hadn't
made enough...
