i'd like to add more driftwood to my tank but prices from stores and vendors are high for just some wood. is there safe wood i could go out and collect? anything i should do before putting it in tank besides boiling it? dropping the pH a bit would be fine since mines around 6.4
where in the south? im sure there are local breeders near you. we always have a good turn out with breeders at our atlanta club auction, that's where i picked up my apistos. they'll usually sell them cheaper since its a guy out of his house.
thanks Mike, I ended up with 6. one is a male not sure yet about the other 5. i cant wait for them to put some size on. the one i posted before was from the pairs previous spawn from what i got. they're F1
here's a picture of the one i'll be picking up this weekend. They are being sold as A. cf. agassizii "Alenquer". they are still young but what do you pros think
i've thought about more wood but with the large fish it just seems like it takes up so much room. especially with the eartheaters, there's less footprint for them. the tank is a standard 125g. i've been contemplating upgrading to a 180g for a 72"x24" footprint
thanks guys.

for shipping to me, i always use fedex. i work for them and get a great discount on priority over night. i've always had fish arrive on time and in good condition even after a truck crashed in the middle of the night. the delivery person was always the same to my apartment and i would be one of...
hey all. i joined the site a little while ago. i became interested in dwarfs a while ago when i went to a local club members house and he had tanks with breeding apistos. im currently keeping larger SA cichlids but i have an empty 36g corner tank that i want to put some dwarf cichlids in. i've...
