A while back you had posted a paper I think you had wrote on the caudal markings of the A. cf. agassizii and agassizii forms. BBCB and white borders etc. I have it on my other PC but the motherboard has recently died. Could you possibly link that again for me please please! Thanks much.

Those are some awsome looking A. agasizzi and such wide array of forms.. Reminds me of an article Mike Wise wrote or posted (or both) here about the characteristics of the bands on the caudal fin of different forms of agasizzi. Anyone have the link to that? I have it on my other PC but the...
I just started reading this article but I just have to say that A. sp. "Alto Tapiche"
has to be one of if not thee most amazing apisto I've ever seen. Just spectactular!
On the subject of grow out tanks. How well does a larger say 40 - 50gal. bare bottom tank work for growing out young? I'm talking stocking it with 40 or more young fish of maybe 3 to 4 different species. With so many fish and no hard scapes they can't really develope pecking orders and claim...
Just made a video of my breeders. Figured I'd post it here to see what you all think.
I'm not in breeding mode right now so I have too many fish in each tank. Most are offspring from previous spawns that I need to get rid of. I need to come up with a good grow out system.
My apisto setups...
About 2 weeks ago I received 4 very young A. panduros that I bought mail order. They are about 1/2" to 3/4" long, still very young. I ordered a trio and he sent me an extra. Anyway I can't get these things to eat anything but live BBS . In an effort to get them eating other foods I havent fed...
cool, good to know and good ideas.. I've been struggling with how I am going to start regulating spawns in my tanks for some time now. Thanks that helps a lot.
Mike how long do you leave the male in the breeding tank? I leave my fry with the mother also but I have a hard time removing the male. I dunno I guess I just feel like he should be there. So the problem I run into is the pair will start breeding about once a month like clock work and the...
Is A. sp. melgar a commercial name for a form A. sp. pebas or is it an actual species?
Amazon Tropical has these on aqua bid listed as Apisto. "melgar" F0 from Peru.
They look like a form of pebas to me. Beautiful fish none the less, think i'd like to have a pair
congratz! I just picked up a dozen F1 juvenile black-chins myself from a club member here in town. they are about an inch in length now and all look very femanine at the moment. Hopefully theres at least 1 male in there!
Congratz again on your spawn.. Beautiful fish.

can anyone tell me anything about Apisto. Pebas "Dolly"? Amazon tropical fish has some on their stock list I was considering trying.
I seen some pictures of Toms "Morado" and was wondering if these were anything remotely close? I realize they probably dont have the poping colors etc. but I...
I ditched the mail order idea after I found a female agassizii (fire red/Amelanistic) at my LFS for 18 bucks. Shes really young still but paired up with one of my wild yellow aggies. Shes been holed up in a cave for the past 4 days (tending a clutch of eggs I imagine).. Hopefully I'lll see some...
