Apisto Viejita Rio Meta male. The eye has been swollen for about 2 weeks. At one point I thought it was getting better.
He disappeared and I thought I lost him until today. I netted him and he is in a separate container in the tank.
I don't know what to do for him. That plastic thing...

Purchased a 2 wild caught pairs from Mark Denaro a couple of months ago. I lost a male and the lone female cannot be put in with the remaining pair.
Asking $15 + shipping, though I would prefer local NYC/NJ pickup.
I've been told that Barlowi's are kinda bullheaded! My male is never nice to the female though she tries her darnedest. She will take a submissive posture in front of him and all he does is chase her.
Is this just the nature of a Barlowi or is the pair not compatible to each other...

Unfortunately, my 55g is presently housing a pair and a trio of Borelli's. The only other option is to move the pair into the 20long and the lone female into the 15g or sell the lone female.

I have the surviving pair in planted 15G, with some Galaxy rasboras, dwarf chain loaches, Aspidoras pauciradiatus and soon to be moved green neon tetras.
The remaining female is in a planted 20g long with an assortment of peaceful nano fish.
They would be the only apistos in each tank.
I purchased 2 Barlowi pairs. The were fine in the shipping bag but once they were free in the tank, the two males were in a constant lip lock. Ten minutes of this and I separated the 2 pair.

I pretty new to dwarf apistos and wonder if these are good books for now and future referencing. I don't need something that is really (intense) technical ........ meaning will I read a paragraph and go "huh?". I'm not new to fish keeping. Just new to apistos.
