Hi All,
Could you please help me.
My two Orange Flash Cacatuoides females do not look like they used to..., i.e. they are not yellow anymore for more than 3 months and look like males - very bright with long red spine and dorsal fins and tale. My male died, I guess it was due to his age, he...
Not sure about your females, but my Alenquer and Red Agassizii asa well as Triple Red Cacatuoides start chase the Male straight after she laid eggs and male ffertilised them. Female knows that the Make is around and even she can't see him directly, she come from her space to find him and bite...
Thank you Mike.
I thought video is much better than photo for ID purposes as it is sometimes really hard to make good photo. Apistos are really fast fish and hides all over the time. In video you may see more... but is my opinio of course :)
I could be wrong, but I am afraid they are sick. I read about similar case on Facebook Apistogramma group post when half of their body becomes black. Something is related to nerves.
Please update me how you go, because I lost one fish as well with similar coloration.
Hi All,
I have decided to update my thread here rather than creating a new one. Last week, I got 6 Nijsseni and 6 Panduro fish. Fish is still young, probably 5-6 months old (LPS could not tell me their age), however I did a deeper research, spent a lot of time looking at the fish, its colours...
If it is not too difficult, could you please post here the link to that thread where Mike explained how to sex juvenile fish from the nijsseni complex?
Thanking you in advance
Thank you very much Mike! You are very helpful as usual! :)
I will post some photos once I have bought them. I decided to buy two pairs of each species.
Recently I bought two pairs of Agassizii Alenquer. Such a luck! What a gorgeous fish! They are still young, I think 6-7 months old, however...
Hi everyone,
I always wanted to keep a Princess of Burundi or Fairy Cichlid or Neolamprologus Brichardi :)
Finally I have got a spare 170l tank and available 2 month old fry. I hope, I have read enough articles and watched videos about this fish to understand that it would be better and more...
Nitrites and nitrates are fine. The rest of other four juveniles is alive. Tank is 50l, size is 585*385*320. I will move them or some of them to 140l tank later when it is possible to sex them. There are two driftwood where they hide and big piece of moss. There are no substrate for practical...
Hehe )) I have found the answer :)
Once I removed the male, I could not find the female, which was smashing the male... I looked for her and found her behind the plants in front of a stone staying there and not swimming around. I closely looked at her and found the surface of stone is full of...
Guys, this is not the end of the story :)
I came back to my LPS week ago and bought one more small Agassizii from the same batch of fish, similar size and colours to the first one. I just wanted to increase my chances to have a female.
I added the new one to the current two ones which I bought...
