The tank is over 2 years old so fairly well established, I've read this can help with feeding the fry. My Allpahuayo raised half a dozen batches in it with very little added food.
So I just got some juvenilish stock I think, hard to tell they are around 2cm. I've got them in a 40Lx16Hx20D tank roughly 55 gallons with a 25 gallon sump.
Water has a pH of 6.5 and tds of 90 it's mostly RODI with a touch of tap water.
No tank mates as of yet, waiting of some nice pencil fish...
I have around 50 F1 Allpahuayo juvies, one is starting to show signs of fun elongation.
Has anyone else experienced this in f1 fry?
Pics 1-4 are the fish that seems to have longer fins pic 5 is what the rest look like.
I'll try to get another pic when I get home.
They have been in a tank with young male allpahuayo, I thought one of them was guarding eggs is this possible? Are they close enough related?
I purchased 2 females under the name Juruensis which I was fairly confident at the time were allpahuayo but now they have developed the lines on there side that none of my other allpahuayo females have ever shown, they do however have a distinct dot sometimes.
Any help with a ID I know it's a...
Below Water out of Montreal, Canada has Kullanderi on there stock list aswell as some other rare apistos. I believe they ship to the U.S aswell.
Ps. I don't work for them I just thought I'd let some canadians know about this because it is rare to see some of these here.
Apistogramma spec...
Is anyone in Canada breeding or has Apistogramma Schwarzkehl/Black Throat.
My pair has started to breed regularly and I want to maybe get a couple males and females to mix up the gene pool once the fry are older.
Im going to be in the Van/Seattle areas in the near future. Im wondering if anyone knows any Stores or breeders that have or regularly stock apistos?
thanks in advance
Yeah they're males I'm a idiot lol traded them back to the guy I purchased them from for a mated pair of WC macs, now I just need to find a domestic female for my other male which in Canada is going to take awhile.
My tank isn't usually so well lit either i just turned on the extra lights to get pictures.
I'm running Co2 and ferts. I have made baffles for the filter outlets so reduce current to a minimum.
I have peat in the filters and have almond leaves and some other "leaf litter".
They have been together about a month now.
Any suggestions for tank layout?
The picture is when I first did the setup it have alot more plant cover now
