    Apisto-what species?

Thank you, Viejo! I was hoping it was a dorsigera. Here's another pic I got today. Maybe a LITTLE better? It is always on the move, so hard to get clear pictures.

    Apisto-what species?

He's hiding now, of course, being a new fish. I'll try again when he decides to come out. Thanks.

    Apisto-what species?

I got this little guy today from an LFS out of a tank that was labeled "Assorted Apistos." I had a dorsigera about two years ago who died of an internal parasite. I really loved that fish. So when I saw the tank (at the same store I got my first one) I decided to give it a try again. Any way you...

My new apisto is all yellow

Hi Serena, no, I didn't get her from Sherman Oaks. I ordered her online from Bob's Tropical Plants. (I hope it's okay to mention it on this forum) He's in the L.A. area. Sometimes I think mine is starting to get a little bit of color, and other times I think not. It's good that yours are...

My new apisto is all yellow

Agreed, Unicorn, I'd never put a male betta in with a cichlid of any kind. Well, since I'm not going to be breeding, I don't care that much if she's not a Cacatuoides. I just hope she's not a type that likes soft water as so many of them are, as my PH is 7.6. She did come from a S. California...

My new apisto is all yellow

Thank you, Mike! She was sold to me as an Orange. I learned something new today, that sometimes they don't show the dark markings! I'll try the flashlight bit tonight. Thanks also for your comment about the betta. I have kept female bettas in with the more peaceful dwarf cichlids for years...

My new apisto is all yellow

I bought an Apisto cacatuoides, and this is what I got. She's solid yellow. All the other pics I've seen of any type of Apisto had stripes. Is this indeed a cacatuoides, and I assume, a female? She's an inch long, and due to the flash, the photos show her lighter in color than she is. She's the...

Anyone have A. cacatuoides for sale?

I'd like to buy a female. I live in S. California. I have a 20 gallon tank with a Honey Gourami and 2 endlers, and would like to add a cacatuoides. Thank you.

New here-just got an Apisto-what is he?

There were a bunch of these, and also some fish that were black with white spots (I wonder what those were?) Anyway, I'm not planning on breeding anyone (ram or this, or any other, that is why I have only one of each) so I guess I needn't worry? I'm actually very pleased I have a curviceps...

New here-just got an Apisto-what is he?

How could I have missed that "smile" before? Thanks to you guys, I now know what I have. Sorry didn't mean to double post the first pic.

New here-just got an Apisto-what is he?

Amazing that the fish store would make such a glaring mistake! The more I looked at this fish, the more I could see the smiling face that they speak of with Laetacara. Why call it a Blue Apisto? And I hope this guy doesn't get nasty as he gets older. I have a very mellow, sweet Bolivian...

New here-just got an Apisto-what is he?

This is amazing! I've posted these pics on several boards, and so far I've gotten, Blue Steel, Macmasteri, L. Curviceps, and now Nanacara! I wish I knew what I had! Now I'm off to look at Nanacara pics! Thank you, Slimbolen.

New here-just got an Apisto-what is he?

I just bought this apisto at a LFS. He/she was labled "Blue Apisto." It's a juvenile, obviously, about 1.5" long.Any ideas on what it is? Thanks for any help!
