Yes the second and third are the same female, second picture is at the very start of finding a breeding territory, the third picture is defensive broodcare colouration..
They are really easy to breed,i have not done a thing to induce these fish!! mine are kept in my understocked 40gallon Discus tank, sand substrate, loads of bogwood and hiding places,PH 6.5
TDS 60-65ppm temp at around 80f..
I started with a group of 8 juveniles and they are now nice specimins, i have at least 3 mature females, one dominant male and a few that are still to small to sex..
I am finding breeding apisto's in groups in a large tank a lot easier than pairs in small tanks..
