    What are these?

Not really a shame. They're going to someone who really wants them, who I know will give them a good home. :)

    What are these?

Guess I'm trading them. Already had an offer. 4 blue rams from a local breeder, a male, two females, and a 4th uncertain. He said he's already had two spawnings from them, which is GREAT news for me. :) I could probably get more for them... but they don't have any intrinsic value for /me/...

    Hello all! Newby needs help!

I've kept blue rams in very hard water, and they did just fine. Never showed any interest in breeding, but they were very healthy and colorful.

    What are these?

My local fish forum is confirming that ID as well. Looks like I managed to get a screaming deal on a fairly expensive fish. Now to make up my mind on whether to stick with it, or find someone to trade them to locally. :)

    What are these?

That seems... unlikely, but I suppose it's possible. These were in the section with the rest of the South American dwarfs, but didn't have a species name. If you're correct in your id, just how big can I expect these guys to get? I was aiming for small fish. Edit: I've found some...

    What are these?

I picked up 3 of these guys last night at the fish store. They were in a tank marked as blue rams, but clearly they /aren't/ blue rams.

    Breeding Behavior?

Starting to bump this up slowly over the next few days. And I had another 'my fish spawned' dream last night.

    Breeding Behavior?

Yeah. My tank is at 78 right now. I'll bump the heater up a bit when I get home. I'll also be adding a new light, so that may push the temperature up a couple degrees too.

    Breeding Behavior?

Hmm. That's a touch warmer than I have my tank right now. I'll wait to make that adjustment until I get back from my vacation this weekend. :)

    Breeding Behavior?

Thanks! I'll keep hoping. I watch them every day, looking for strong pairing or pink bellies, but no luck so far. Ah well. Even if they don't spawn, they're the highlight of the tank.

    Breeding Behavior?

Can anyone point me to a good site describing the behavior of blue rams as they start to form breeding pairs? I've started to see some new behavior in my little school, and I'm hoping it means they're starting to pair up. Basically, I've spotted the dominant male swimming in circles with one...

    German Blue Rams

Thanks! He's by far the dominant ram in the tank. :) So far, all of them seem to be males. No pink bellies, though I keep hoping one of the five will turn out to be female. Preferably two or three. :)

    New camera pics

Very nice. :) I need to get a good digital SLR, so I have more control of my pictures. *sigh* Maybe this year sometime, if I can get my wife to follow our budget. :)
