Tommy Kronkvist
I'm a Swedish amateur ichthyologist, with a special interest in killifish. However, I've always also loved Apistogramma, and among other dwarf cichlids I've successfully bred Apistogramma borellii, cacatuoides and trifasciata. Trivia: the species Apistogramma hongsloi was named after Swedish biologist Thorbjörn Hongslo, who collected the first known specimen. Back then he was a member of "Uppsala Akvarieförening", i.e. the same non-profit aquarium association as me. (I was a member of the board and editor-in-chief of Aqua Upsaliensis, their monthly magazine).
Apistogramma means "with a vague or undefined lateral line". From Greek ἄπιστος (apisto: 'uncertain' or 'unbelievable') and γράμμα (gramma: a signal or written grapheme).
