most effective way of heating fish room ???

We just had this conversation (about using dehumidifier water in tanks) on my local club's forum. Many of our top breeders are using it on FRESHWATER tanks with no side affects. Most of the water delivery inside your home is copper...unless it's a newer home...in which case they use PEX. For...

most effective way of heating fish room ???

A dehumidifier running on a timer (I leave mine on 12 hours a day), will remove water from the air, and also puts out a good deal of heat. My fish room stays between 75*F and 78*F pretty consistently.

Dicrossus maculatus - how many females in 17g?

I had six in a 48" x 18" footprint, HEAVILY planted tank -- and quickly ended up with just one pair. One very aggressive pair.

    Cleaning tanks with leaf litter

When I had oak leaf litter tanks, I didn't really try to disturb the substrate, but I did do like you did, and kind of stir up some of the leaves to get some of the poop floating -- and then did my usual water change. I think the water in the water column being clean is a bigger deal than...
