i have a macmasteri female in a community tank with angels tetras and others..i only have 1 but your talking a colony ...one thing i have to watch out for is if my apisto gets food... my angels are beast at eating lol i seen one of them eat a 50gr frozen cube in two bites idk how but it did..
i picked out a pair at the ACA last year and i they bred multiple times and but i only raised the first batch becasue my lfs said they want some but then they changed their minds so i feed them off to my ornate bichir....my pair is still going strong will breed as soon as i start feeding heavy...
