Thanks. Since becoming interested in apistos I’ve found that the domestic strains vary and often there are a bunch of different names all given to the same type e.g fire red, super fire red but the image is of the same fish. This often makes it difficult to identify.
I follow a guy on Instagram and he posted a couple of pictures of an apistogramma agasizzii he has. Do any of you guys know what kind of agasizzii this may be? I’ve tried to search but nothing comes close. either way it’s a beautiful apisto and not one I’ve seen before.
So I got my first pair of apistos a few days ago. They’re I’m my community tank until I set up their biotope. They’re eating well and don’t seem shy at all even though they’re quite small and are in a tank with a couple of Bolivian rams and a pair of German blue rams and tetras.

I got my first apistos a few days ago. I’ve kept dwarf cichlids before but never had apistos but always wanted some. I was sold a pair of apistogramma agasizzii double red. I don’t know if I have a male or female as I’m not good at sexing them and I think they may be still too young. Anyway...
