Apistogramma Agassizii Gold Blaze breeding project

do you still see them moving or do they become very still? I saw some people saying they would put them in a supper saturated brine solution, do you just leave them in their hatch water?

how long can you keep BBS alive? what is the best way to store (If any) BBS so that you don't have to have a hatch going all the time? I hatched a 1/4 teaspoon and it was much more than I needed.

Apistogramma Agassizii Gold Blaze breeding project

Well I thought I had a failed spawn, I was wrong! Today I have seen some free swimming fry! about 12 that I can see! I feel a little unprepared, as I don't have any BBS but I do know there is bunch of micro organisms in the tank. I did Grind up some bug bites into a powder and have some froze...

It has been a busy month. Here is the update. I have set up the breeding 10g. I have found a pair that appear to want to mate Luckily, because I unfortunately lost the other female that was also showing signs of wanting to mate but had a wound on her side that eventually became infected. she...

New to soft water, acidic tanks!

What would be the best way to proceed? Right now I am thinking of setting up a non planted breeding tank (10g) and putting in leaf litter, a couple caves, some driftwood and sand substrate, maybe some Moss. Would I put straight RO water into that? should I add any trace nutrients?

@dw1305 yes, I have a TDS, and it is a planted tank.

@yukondog Are the fry large enough to eat BBS or should I look to culture some daphnia before bbs? I think I will need to set up and cycel a 10g with leaf litter and caves no plants, that way I can keep the water soft without worrying about the nutrients for the plants driving TDS and Kh up.

New to soft water, acidic tanks!

HI all! I'm very new to Apistos, but absolutely infatuated. I am currently attempting to breed A. Agassizii Gold Blaze and have plans to set up a large tank/colony with the strain of Macmasteri that is often called "viejita gold red". I will be using RODI water, dosing with seachem's alkaline...

Apistogramma Agassizii Gold Blaze breeding project

Hi Everyone, I am starting a A. Agassizzii Gold Blaze breeding project and I am looking for any advice you may have. My current breeding set up is 20 g (24"), PH is 7, TDS is a little higher than I would like, but I am working to bring it down one water change at a time. I have the temp sitting...
