Nice Mike. ;) It seems you have some work to do, good luck with all new fry.

Same think happened to me. Find some Marginatus fry in macmasteri tank without doing anything special.

    Angels and Apistos?

You can put apisto and angels with no problems. I saw that apisto are more aggressive than angels, they can fight with one (much larger) angel side by side sometimes with no victims. The only time when angels are aggressive is when they got eggs/fry, but if the tank is large enough there will...

    Strange behavior macmasteri pair

I've decided to buy a male and today I received the fish. It's a juvenile fish but quite different from the females: more color on the neck, much more pointed anal and dorsal tips.

    Strange behavior macmasteri pair

It can be a female turning into a male. I had also a female cacatuoides who laid eggs and after a time she turn into a male and bred with other female. I can't be wrong with that because she had a particular sign (a pectoral fin damaged, probably born with that problem). My "male" can be a...

    Strange behavior macmasteri pair

Thanks gerald. I believe they are a pair even if the relation between them is quite tense: just few times I saw them one next to each other without chases from the male. From what I have read, this can be normal to some macmasteri pairs. I will post some pictures with them.

    Strange behavior macmasteri pair

My macmasteri red mask pair has spawned with no success for 4 times until now (from what I saw). First 2 egg-laying happened inside the coconut cave, the hole has big enough for the male to enter, he drove the female outside the cave and "taking care of eggs" (after 2-3 days the eggs was gone...

    Aliens Attack

Probably you can find it only in a vet cabinet. Ask for Panacur, it's a canine dewormer, I believe it's not that hard to get some. Here I used a medicine called "romfenbendazol", this one is less concentrate.

    Aliens Attack

If there is hydra, you can use succesfully fenbendazole (dose 0.1 grams per 10 gallons). No side effect against fish and good bacteria. I have tried also a 6 V battery, with no result.
