they arrived today. Sadly the female is DOA and I cant afford to pay shipping again. But the male is doing great. I decided to put him in the 20 gallon community tank until I get a female to breed. if anybody has a female cacatuoides double red in nothern Georgia I would love to buy it.
Hey everyone I got a pair of apistogramma cacatuoides double reds today but the female was DOA so I was wondering if anyone had any that I could buy in the north Georgia area?
they shipped today cant wait!!! They will be here tomorrow. I need to wash off all my stuff going into the tank the caves, wood etc. ill send pics of the new fish when I get them into the tank.
hello everyone .
I just got a coconut hut from petsmart but the hole is a bit large. It's about 2 inches wide and just over 2 inches tall. What should I do to make it a smaller opening? I could use a rock to partly cover up a bit of it, or would something else work better?
Thanks for the advice! I'll keep that hatchery in mind. I don't really have any bigger fish besides some guppies and some neon tetras and some Cory catfish though so I really just need the babies for apistogramma fry.
Also does anybody know if I can grow them out in a 20 gallon storage tub ill put a sponge filter on it and have some plants(java moss, frogbit, maybe java ferns) and what should the setup be like? If I cant get live baby brine shrimp could I just use frozen or do the fry only eat live? ill give...
Thanks I'll make sure to do that but what if in the future I want them to spawn? Would like a coconut hut or a pot be better or one of those pre-made apistogramma caves?
Thanks . I'll remove the dragonstone, but do you have any idea of how many caves I should put for the female and what types of caves do you think would work the best?
hey ben sadly I cannot breed them in my 20 because its my community tank. Though I'm thinking I could grow them out in a large storage tub with a sponge filter
thanks for responding
