The water at my place is relatively soft, but I still use a RO unit for my Apistogramma species.
However, I do have some livebearers and other species of fish that require a slightly alkaline water, so most of the waste water from the RO unit goes into those tanks.

I've got a 10 gallon tank set up with some California Black Worms.
Haven't been maintaining the tank too much in the past few weeks, but everything seems OK.
Today, I checked it out, and I've got some weird stuff in there...

Here in Quebec, we use both systems...
Speed and distance in measured in km/h
Most measure themselves in feet and inches
Most weigh themselves in pounds
Rather screwed up!
I "think" our official system is the metric one...
Similar ti Graham, I use terracota pots, and soak them in water for a few hours.
Then, I use a rotary tool, similar to a Dremel, and use a carbide masonry bit and cut out a hole te size I want in the pot!
