Adding a second female apisto

I have a 20L established tank with 1M & 1F apisto plus some dithers. They have been together since they were juveniles and behave more like brother and sister than a couple. I'd like to introduce a second female but the fish that are sold are always juveniles and considerably smaller than the one I have. Does anyone who has done this have any insight into how the older female will react to a new smaller female? There are a lot of caves, wood and plants.

hey there!
i'm no big wis-kid on this matter, but it might help if you could specify which species you got. -i guess some of the less territorial species would deal with the new situation.
i asked a similare question once, i was suggested to, net the couple, rearrange caves etc. a bit and then introduce all three at the same time.
that way they all get a fresh start.

if the new female is very small i'd might wait a little introducing it to the others. it might get bullied by the older female.

hope that helps.
