I have an opportunity to purchase some of these. How do they compare with tank raised, as far as difficulty in keeping, feeding, spawning, etc. Thanks!
I got a pair of wild caught M. ramirezi a few months back. The only issue I had was feeding. To begin with they only ate live food. After a few days they began to eat frozen bloodworm but it was weeks before they ate any flake. They were very shy and would hide whenever somebody approached the tank.
They spawned every 3 weeks or so but would always eat the eggs.
I currently have some juveniles from eggs that I removed from them.
