Hi,

I'm new member here, someone talked me about this forum so i subscribe.

I have a pair of teaniatus moliwe since 10 months, et the pair never spawn.

I did a lot a thing, drop the temp, change the tank etc. and never spawn.

The femelle shaking and the male answer but nothing happened.

Any advise to get a spawn ?

My water is very soft, temps at 25, ph 6,4

Thank

This is my tank

Hope you mean 50 ppm KH. 50° dKH is higher than saltwater. Ted Judy suggests using an extra female as a target fish to stimulate pair bonding/breeding.

I am by far no expert......so I listen to Ted & Mike. I went through the same problem. In one tank I added a second moliwe female and in the other a krib female. Both pairs spawned within a week.

It works for most Pelvics. I use mirrors intended for bird cages. Don't leave it in the tank for more than an hour or the fish get wise to it.

Try a Common Krib (Pv. pulcher). Ted put the extra female in a glass chimney from an oil lamp. He could move it around and this protected the female from being damage by the taeniatus pair.
