Panduros breeding

Hello all just would like an opinion I have a female panduros in a cave defending it and amale outside the cave also chasing other fish away I've never seen the male in the cave would this be a sign of eggs or could they be getting ready also female is all colored up also I have a small pleco in tank female doesn't let it get close should I take him out thanks walt
