Good evening everyone,

Recently acquired some Apistogrammas and have a doubt regarding these:

Somebody knows whether it is A. Agassizi Tefé or A. sp. Tefé?

I hope you can help me with this issue.

Thank you all.

Thanks Darrel,

So it is confirmed, it is a couple of agassizi Tefé right?

I know there are many questions regarding this topic and I was also in doubt.

Let's wait for more opinions.

Thank you.

That is NOT Apistogramma cf. Tefe (Is there even an Apistogramma agassizii Tefe?)

They look to be a nice Peru form of Apistogramma agassizii if not even a tank strain form.

Thank you for the answer.

I buy how a Agassizi Téfé Red. They are juveniles. The male have around 3,5 cm and they not is wild. The Female too, maybe F1 or F2 i think.

There are 2 distinct agassizii-complex species found in the Rio Tefe - A. agassizii (holotype form) and A. sp. Tefé. Your fish are the holotype form of A. agassizii, which occurs between the Río Marañon (Peru) and Rio Negro (Brazil). This geographic range includes the Rio Tefé.

Thanks for the clarification Mike,

In this case I assume that they are agassizi Tefé, because the river is where the river is also found Tefé right?

Again thank you very much.
