    Apistogramma baenschi "Inka"

I spawn mine in 5 and 10 gallon tanks (1 pair per tank, of course). Fairly straightforward to maintain and spawn. They tend to go off their food if nitrate levels go up but, this is true of most wild caught apistos.

    Great Sponge Filters Cheap

You should be able to find clear acrylic tubing of whatever length in hardware/plastic stores. 1/2"-3/4" diameter is what I use.

    Apistogramma sp. Rotkeil

    A. uaupesi isn't available in the UK? They aren't available in stores here, but can be had from importers if you ask around. Not a hard fish to keep or spawn, A. pertensis gave me more trouble.

    Decapsulated brine shrimp

Mike C, what you want are the non-hatching decapsed cysts. Have whoever is feeding your fish rehydrate a small quantity in a bowl of water for 15-30 minutes and then feed the fish.

    Decapsulated brine shrimp

five, I wrote up this tutorial, on making decapsulated hatching eggs, for a friend. You might find it useful... http://www.rahulgkumar.com/fish/DIY/decapsulating.html

    Decapsulated brine shrimp

I decapsulate a batch of eggs when I have to leave town for extended periods of time with fry in my tanks and don't have someone qualified available to hatch shrimp. Works very well. I have not had occasion to use commercially decapsed eggs yet.

I Have Fry, When Do I Feed Them?

Congratulations. What species of fish? If the fry are swimming around (and I think they are, based on the info provided) you should start feeding them immediately. Start them out on the Hikari first bites. Soak a pinch of the food in a cup of water for 15 minutes and then squirt the mixture...

Don't overanalyse the issue :) Clean water of the correct parameters, good food and time. Works for just about any fish you can think of.

    Almond leaves

I rinse them off and pop them in the tank.

    Almond leaves

You don't need a whole lot of leaf for a 5 gallon tank. Unless you do water changes every few days, the water will quickly turn brown to the point where you won't be able to see anything.

I think UV sterilizers are overkill. Unfertilized eggs are taken care of by the parents long before any fungus grows on them.

I do not add anything else to the tank to lower the pH. The ketapang leaves release a lot of tannins and will eventually drop the pH to around 4 if I don't keep up with the water changes. I find that I have to add fresh ketapang leaves every 8 weeks or so. I don't remove the old ones, just add...

10 gallon tank. Water is RO, GH 0, KH ~50 ppm, pH 5. Chopped up ketapang leaves on the bottom. Several inverted clay pots. Couple of clumps of java moss. Sponge filter. Temperature 26C (79F). 20% water changed weekly. The pH fluctuates a bit with water changes; fresh water is at pH 7, after...

Do eliza females move their eggs around? I've got a female who's been turning brood colors on and off for the past couple of days and turning up at different locations around the tank.

    Nanochromis sabinae

What are the dimensions of your tank? The angelfish are the only fish in that tank likely to pick off fry. I've found this species to be very good parents till the fry are free swimming, at which point they start disappearing at an alarming rate. I'd say mostly eaten by the parents because...

    Live Food

Grindal worms, microworms, fruit flies and daphnia are all excellent foods for adult/sub-adult fish. The others are great for fry. This is pretty much what i feed my fish. Red worms will need to be chopped up for most apistos. For a vegetable component, get a good spirulina flake.
