I will be moving and sadly won't be able to take my tanks with me. I have an Apistogramma kelleri tank for sale, for local pickup only in the Upper East Side 10021. I would much prefer selling the entire tank rather than individual parts. Thanks for looking!
10 gallon Apistogramma kelleri...
I have 2 iniridae, 1 macmasteri, and 1 gibbiceps in a grow out tank right now. I want to find them new homes because I need the tank for a new batch of fry.
Local pickup only in the Upper East Side. No shipping.
My experience is that they are extremely shy, even the F1 and F2 fish. Without any dither fish, they hide almost all the time. Right now, I have 3 juvenile in a 5 gallon tank, and they would never come out of hiding until I put some lampeye killies into the tank. Now they swim out in the...
I have a ten gallon breeding tank and 2 five gallon grow-out tank with about 0.75" of sifted potting soil and about 0.5" black sand above it. I started out with planted tanks before keeping apistogramma, so I am biased for maintaining planted tanks. I have had the ten gallon for 3 years now...
I have had good experiences with rocket pencilfish (Nannostomus eques) and blue neon rasbora (Sundadanio axelrodi). They stay in the upper half of the tank, don't seem to bother the fry much, and personally I think they help diffuse some of the aggression in smaller breeding tanks where you...
My pair of bitaeniata just laid eggs this afternoon. How many days from now will I need food for the fry? I've actually raised several species of apistogramma before, but I've never kept track of the number of days it takes for the eggs to hatch and for the fry to become free swimming. Most...
I have some macmasteri juveniles left. I have another batch of eremnopyge that I'm currently raising. And in a little bit I'll likely have gibbiceps and iniridae. I'm waiting for the gibbiceps and iniridae to be clearly sexable and once I have a pair or 2, I'll need to find homes for the rest.
I sold almost all my fry from that batch, and kept only 1 male. I do have another batch I'm raising, though. Unfortunately, that original male died a while back, and I'm waiting to see how the male I kept develops. They are relatively slow growers. I'm hoping it will have multiple thin...
I've kept Nannostomus eques with my apistogramma as a dither with much success. They usually occupy the upper half of the tank, encourage the apistogramma to swim in the open, and seem to have minimal impact on apistogramma fry. Today I noticed some increased activity among the pencilfish, and...
I'm looking to try some new things with my tanks, so I have some Apistogramma for sale, for local pickup in NYC.
Apistogramma cacatuoides trio (1M/2F), $30. I raised the male and one of the females myself and they are approximately 10 months old. I don't know the age of the older female. The...
I noticed some increased activity in my pair of wild A. macmasteri this past weekend, and was able to take a video of courtship/spawning behavior. The first thing I noticed was the male and female shaking their tails at each other. I also noticed that the female seemed to be cleaning the...
