Hi
My expérience :
I don't think that bitaeniata and agasszii be more agressive that the others species of Apistogramma. The conditions of breeding are very important (hiding, tank volume, green neon (dithers), plants, leafs ...).
Each experience is different.

Hi,
I also Apistogramma sp. Papagei. I thought I had a pair but not at all, I have 2 males :( .
It's been 10 months since I raised them in a 50 liter tank. I agree with Mike on the extreme aggressiveness of this species and put a floating tube at the top of the tank to allow the female to...
Thank you very much ;) .
Yes, i know Charly but i had a lot of problems of sexage with him (much frustration by mail order selling) and the communication is very difficult :( . I prefer to find an other person and see the fishes to choose them or find a reliable person to do choice.

Hello,
Very nice pics.
I believe that your sp. breitbinden is an Apistogramma megaptera.

Hi, Happy new year
I keep them (pair) in tank of 150 L (39,6 gallons), PH = 4,8 and conductivité < 80 microsiemens.
It's a real pleasure to breed them.

Some new fish
Apistogramma agassizii "Rio Itaya" F1
Apistogramma borellii
Apistogramma sp. "Papagei"
Apistogramma wapisana - the smaller Apistogramma
Apistogramma commbrae
Apistogramma cf eunotus (Orangeschwanz/Orange-tail)
Interesting !! i have a Apistogramma cf eunotus (Orangeschwanz/Orange-tail) but i don't find the same marks on the body and particulary on the caudal peduncle. Mine don't shows vertical bands.
I bought this Apisto under the name Apisto. cruzi.
Hi,
For me, i am not sure, i don't think that is sp. "Putzer" because the first dorsal spine is not separate and not uaupesi, the caudal is different and less jagged. it look like to A161 but as say Mike, without marks on the body, it's very difficult to identify it.

Hi :),
Thank for your informations. Yes the male is super-dominant but the pair are not alone in the tank. The male defend very good the fry. It's very very interesting to observe this behaviors.
