these fish are usually available from wholesalers but they look pretty bad and almost never culled. I got a group from the cicny auction a few weeks ago and they are the best looking caca's I have personally seen. a local breeder would be ideal but you might have to wait longer. putting want...
Cincy club auction is this saturday. Good chance there might be some taeniatus there? I know a few ppl in the CCAC have them. There were some that went for really cheap at our(CCAC) fall auction. spring auction should be good. -Bradley
Yeah me too. but I still have somehow managed to get them few times. Its been my experience that certain fish seem more susceptible to this type of parasite. seems to me that fish that have been strained out are more likely to have issues or highly farmed fish. Again this is my observation only...
Joe you might want to treat with metro or other antibiotic too. If those worms die and get stuck in digestive tract then the fish might get an infection.
sorry to say but most of the time they don't bounce back once they are that noticeably sick. I'm pretty I get them from california black worms. I treat all tanks now every few months just to be sure(that get black worms). But thats kind of the price you pay to get some fish into condition to...
Joe, if you can't get some within a few days I'll mail you a few table spoons which is enough for a first dose and maybe the second one depending on how big your tank is.

This worked(s) very well for me but can cause some algae bc its not pure. The pure stuff is pretty expensive and harder to get. I actually have some keyholes that have these worms again(assuming they came from black worms)and are...
So I got some fish sold as apisto. juruensis. But I think they might be "black chin". I'm trying to get a good picture of them. fish have the black line running from lip towards belly and a black line running parallel to bottom lip.
I took off my DI cartridge. I think that it maybe be spent and leeching minerals back into the water. The unit is a 50gpd so it might have to much pressure behind it. Unfortunately the unit doesn't have a pressure gauge. Thanks for the tip. I'm just shocked by how high the TDS is with a newer...
There are a few things that I have questions about pertaining to my water.
The Ph from my RO is 7.7 and tds is reading 190.
My tap water is liquid rock. Ro filter is less than 2 months old and is flushed a few times a week. I have a Milwaukee PH controller on my planted tank and it always...
Nice write up. I have a 40 stretch hex with swords that doesn't currently have any fish in it. Maybe I'll move the espei into there once i know all are settled in. Supposed to get another group this week if all goes well.
Ste12000 I would be very interested in your ongoing ventures! thanks...
If you use sand only make sure its not to deep or you can get dead spots. you might even do a layer of flora base and then cap it in sand. i redid my 90 gallon and did a layer of soil and then capped it with sand. here is how it looks at around 6 weeks of growth.
