A few weeks ago I bought a nice male S. tinanti (4" long) and four juvenile S. casuarius.
Currently they are in seperate tanks. The issue I'm having is the tinanti hides in his cave and does not come out. At first I figured after a few weeks he would settle in and come...
I have a 33 long that is 48" x 13" x 13". Currently only inhabitants are a few cory's and a few tetras.
Water is semi soft with a ph of about 6.8. Lots of rocks and caves.
My question is should I buy one tinanti or three/four? I'm going over to the store soon and see if I can sex them...

Would adding some water jets to the bottom of my tank (to simulate their natural environment) add any benifit for these fish. The fish are doing fine, they just seem to breath hard and i was wondering if the addition of water movement aide them in their breathing?
