Hello, I've managed to source a 45-gallon tank to be the final tank on my breeding rack (others are 35, so this is the bottom tank). I wasn't originally aiming for a tank like this; however, I came across this tank with tight-fitting lid and working lights for a low price and grabbed it while I...
My rainwater tends to be in the ph range of 4-5. And I've tried collecting some previously; I hardly get any. (I'm in a weather channel, scarcely heavy enough rain or shine, and never any extremes like snow).
I used to use bug bites with mine as well, just seeing whether anyone would recommend...
Hello, due to my water company changing what they put in the tap, I've lost my apistos and rams. So I'll be completely starting anew. So it means I can now go with what would be best for the fish (also going RO with discus minerals (I am not going back to tap, I don't want to face losing...
Well, I've only kept to the basics of dwarf cichlids, and wanted to know whether there was anything further I could do. Done apistos, rams and kribs, I know there is more to it then that.
I'm more searching ideas, which then will be researching into further each of them. I have what I like as such, wanting to know what others would like to help further my horizon.
Getting two new 35gallon longs, around 3 foot, 140 ish litres.
What would people say would be their favourite sort of fish or things to do with such tank? Community, breeding, crab?
I'm thinking about possibly doing a skittish community including scarlet badis, sparkling gourami and the...
I am wondering whether this fish is male or female. I've named them Chopstick due to their pectoral fins being a creme colour with two pale dark lines through them, like a set of chopsticks.
Chopstick has some blue markings on their face and an extremely thin orange band on the very top of...
I've previously asked, however, was asked to wait until they had settled again. They've settled after the rescape, so I've done my best to take some pictures (Chopstick seems to have turned camera shy as of late).
The first three is the above mentioned fish. The next two are my two newest, sold...
That is what I thought. I do have access to substrate, leaf litter and flat rocks, towards the right of the tank, which I know they prefer.
And yes, my tank is only more 100cm rather than 120cm
Does anyone know the ability of apistos and rams in the same tank, 30gallon long.
Heavily decorated, hardly space to see from one side to the other. Planing to make it more dense, and plenty of caves (from ground to top of water).
The tree in the centre is flush side to side, and top to...
That is what I thought, however, my ph has dropped by about 0.5, so I am keeping it at what level I have now to see how much it has dropped from tap of 7.4.
I have sand (ordering more to make it deeper or incase I don't have enough), a good 5kg of leaf litter available and various other botanicals, and spider wood that I am making into a tree and about a kg of driftwood (I could get more if needed).
I have hydrocotyle leucocephala (Brazilian...
I am doing one last order before doing a large rescape on my apisto tank of dimensions 100cmX30cmX40cm.
What are things that you would say are a must-have for Apistogramma? Or something that you prefer to have for yours?
(I am also working the tank towards blackwater (where it is the darker...
Alright, thanks, there were given a snack before all of this of blood worms, and I think they got most of it before anyone else in the tank could. I make sure not to feed whenever I notice that they are getting on the larger size.
I believe these are some better images of them.
I am wondering whether this fish is male or female. They are around an inch in length, and I believe I've seen them colour yellow at points; however, I don't have an image of this.
They have a faint black line through her tail fin; however, they also have black on their ventral fin. On their...
